AeroSphere’s Piper Archer III DX (Diesel) and LX (Avgas) models for X-Plane 12
This Piper Archer III package comes with 3 models , the G1000 DX / LX and Steam-guage variants of the Piper Archer that are widely used in the aviation training market.
Piper Archer DX:
The Piper Archer DX was released in 2014 in order to accommodate the more readily available Jet-A fuel for use around the world as Avgas is a rare commodity in certain places. It sports a Continental CD-155 turbocharged diesel engine and is equipped with a gearbox in order to bring the propeller down to subsonic speeds as diesels naturally run at a higher RPM.
The Diesel is coupled with a constant speed MT 3-blade propeller.
The avionics packages includes a G1000 and sports a single “Power Lever” that is commonplace amongst Jet / Diesel / FADEC equipped aircraft.
Piper Archer LX:
The Piper Archer LX is the standard PA-28-181 that is equipped with the Garmin G1000 glass cockpit and the normal four cylinder Avgas engine.
Piper Archer III Steamguage:
AeroSphere’s Piper PA28-181 Archer III was designed after the mid 1990’s model equipped with a steam gauge panel.
The panel and interior were designed after the same era with modern avionics that are commonplace among Pipers.
The Archer III was taken from the Cherokee line and sports a carbureted Lycoming O-360-A4M with 180HP at 2700 RPM with a fixed pitch prop. AeroSphere’s Archer was created using the Pilot Information Manual to fully encapsulate an accurate flight model for X-Pane 12.

Requires X-Plane 12.1 and higher
Takes advantage of the new features in X-Plane version 12.1 such as the Johnson bar flap handle and the new G1000 data refs (the custom Piper engine gauge cluster on the G1000 is controlled by these new data refs such as waiting on the splash screen, reversionary mode etc… However, the engine gauges do not show on the “pop-up” version of the G1000, as these are still default).
